Shortbreads are one of my favorite cookies. Scottish in origin, this rich, tender, and crumbly straw colored biscuit (cookie) was once served only during Christmas and New Year's Eve (Hogmanay).

Shortbread cookies are made with very few ingredients and are deliciously buttery. These are soft, crumbly cookies famous in Scotland. The rich flavour can be added to any chocolate. It’s best to enjoy the winter night with hot chocolate in one hand and shortbread cookies in another.
